i go to this place most weekends but only because there is knowhere else and i hate queueing for ages to get into goldies when half the time it isnt even full. we tried club m's retro night recently and that was pants unless you like hard house none stop. i have reviewed that place already. so being an old duffer in my mid 30's i have been going out on the town since the early 90's when this place was the mall. i dont like the 2 room thing myself. it is never as busy as i would like, especially downstairs. i might like it more if it was busy. i dont like the party music upstairs. nonestop, 50 cent, christina aguilera and i will survive just doesnt do anything for me. downstairs is the total opposite and is none stop extreme hardcore. so if you are like me and want something between the two you are stuffed. i hope they refurbish the place and get it back to one room. as far as trouble goes i dont see much more than any other place really. for those who never knew the mall and are wondering which is best. well consider this, the mall was popular enough to be open monday, thursday, friday and saturday nights. zanzibar is only open friday and saturday night.
i almost forgot, i love the dancing girls downstairs.

Me & My best mate are pure Zanzibar Bums...we pretty much try and get there as much as we can afford to. Love that its got 2 floor so u can mooch up or down anytime & listen to some great tunes. Its always full so its neva a let down. Reason i love it more is just its the local place to be bump into loads of my skool mates who i rarely see..so its pretty good. Neva had any problems wen ive been. Alcho Pops r like £3.50 ago so i suggest u get wrecked else where b4 going in thats wat me & my mates tend to do.
Just depends what your into & how old u r to whether ur gonna enjoy it or not

I don't think Zanzibar is as bad as everyone says it is... and its not just because I work there... people getting beat up, fighting, stuff like that is gonna happen in any club but for all the fights that are supposed to happen I don't see many at all... maybe once a month... I know there are more but for some reason they don't happen very often around me?

Music: you have a choice of two rooms on a Saturday night, the club downstairs (Ascention) is dance and club music and upstairs in Zanzibar they play a bit of everything really.

Value for money: the prices of drinks before any vouchers or offers are terrible. Friday night before 1130 you can get double your money vouchers, where you will give kendra say... £20 and she will give you £40 worth of vouchers back so in effect your drinks are b.o.g.o.f. if you don't have any vouchers and your on the spirits you can go large for a pound more!! This works better on a saturday because not many people get any vouchers on a Saturday.

Friday nights is Spank the banker... basically deal or no deal but the name had to be changed obviously...

Some saturdays we have people in djs and other people... last week and this week we have galaxy and wiggy
some time in march we've got a very very very very pretty will mellor... makes my day hehe :P

If your with the right people zanzibar is a good night out... but you do have to be in the right mood for it.
