They say there’s no such thing as a free lunch, but during March, you can hear live music for free, every lunchtime at BBC Radio Cleveland.
 
The Lunchtime Sessions will showcase a range of local music and other performances in the BBC Radio Clevelands new reception area on Newport Road in Middlesbrough.

Organisers of Middlesbrough's free annual live music festival, Middlesbrough Music Live are asking the public who they would like to see appear at this years event.

Taking place this year on Sunday 3rd June, Middlesbrough Music live attracts over 40,000 people to the one day event and this year promises to be another fantastic day out. Between 10 and 15 stages of Music and Comedy will rock Middlesbrough and rattle the foundations of the town centre!

A TEENAGER will perform at a Darlington concert after winning the town's Young Singer of the Year competition.

Hayley McKay, 14, was one of six singers in the grand final of the Music for Darlington competition, at Elm Ridge Methodist Church, in Darlington.

ORGANISERS report "strong'' entries for the Middlesbrough Competitive Music Festival, which began last weekend and continues tomorrow and Saturday.

Tomorrow there will be a competition for string instruments at the Middlesbrough Baptist Church, in Cambridge Road.

Choirs will vie for honours in the junior choral contest in St Mary's Roman Catholic Cathedral, at Coulby Newham, also tomorrow.
